Carraig Abhainn Counselling and Psychotherapy - Listening Support New Perspectives

About Counselling and Psychotherapy

How is counselling/therapy helpful to people?

  • Knowing that you’re not alone

  • Understanding yourself better, gaining insights

  • Learning new ways of being and doing

  • Feeling supported and valued by your counsellor/therapist

  • Expressing your feelings, thoughts and concerns while feeling accepted

Why the name "Carraig Abhainn" ?

The River and the Rock symbolise the counselling process.  The rock represents stability, a connection with the earth and a steady presence. I associate it with a strong inner core, and a solid sense of oneself.

The river, on the other hand symbolises flow ........ the growth of detachment as the pain of one's personal history diminishes and the capacity to appreciate many sides of a situation.
